Ted Kurlinkus is a sports and orthopedic physical therapist, and owner of TK Physical Therapy and Sports Performance.
He has an abiding interest in acute and chronic orthopedic and sports injuries— an interest that began after sustaining several significant injuries as a high school athlete, which led him through his own rehabilitation experiences.
It was the sum of those personal experiences that inspired him to become a PT.
“I remember the fear I experienced about not being able to play the sports I loved again,” he says. “As a PT, I want to be able to help my patients get back to the things that they love to do.”
The thing he loves most about being a PT is building relationships with patients; and seeing them from the very start to the very end of their treatment. Understanding the need for and value of personalized treatment, he approaches each patient as a “unique individual and not a set of diagnoses.”
He holds dual board certifications as an Orthopedic Clinical Specialist (OCS) and Sports Clinical Specialist (SCS). Ted has also been recognized as a Fellow of the American Academy of Orthopedic Manual Physical Therapists.
In addition to his clinical practice, he is a clinical mentor for the Northwestern University Fellowship in Advanced Orthopedic Physical Therapy Practice, Research, and Education as well as the Northwestern Division 1 Sports Fellowship.
He previously served as Team Physical Therapist for DePaul University Athletics from 2018-2021. Click here to learn more about Ted’s practice and offerings.
